removal 1. disconnect the battery. for additional information, refer to battery mounting and cables . 2. with the vehicle in neutral, position it on a hoist. for additional information, refer to jacking and lifting . 3. remove the 2 screws and the accessory drive splash shield. to install, tighten to 5 nm (44 lb-in). 4. rotate the front end accessory drive belt tensioner clockwise and position the front end accessory drive belt aside. 5. release the 2 retainers and remove the lower generator air duct. 6. disconnect the generator electrical connector. 7. position the protective cover aside, remove the nut and position the generator b+ terminal aside. discard the nut. to install, tighten to 8 nm (71 lb-in). 8. remove the 2 nuts and the generator splash shield. to install, tighten to 25 nm (18 lb-ft). 9. remove the generator bolt. to install, tighten to 47 nm (35 lb-ft). 10. …

removal 1. remove spark plugs. ensure crankshaft is set at tdc, and camshaft sprocket timing mark and oil pump sprocket timing mark are aligned with inner cover timing marks. see fig. 1 . remove fan guard. remove fan shroud and position aside. remove fan retaining screws, and remove fan and shroud. rotate drive belt tensioner and remove belt. 2. remove cooling fan and water pump pulley. discharge a/c system (if equipped) using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. remove a/c compressor and position aside. remove a/c compressor mounting bracket with power steering pump attached, and position aside. 3. remove timing belt outer cover retaining bolt. release 7 cover interlocking tabs. remove timing belt cover. holding timing belt tensioner with camshaft belt tension adjuster (t74p-6254-a) or equivalent, loosen adjusting bolt and slowly release tension. see fig. 2 . pry tensioner away from timing belt and tighten bolt to hold tensioner in place. remove …

removal caution: remove the entire clutch hydraulic system from the vehicle as an assembly when installing a new clutch master cylinder assembly (7c522). 1. disconnect the clutch hydraulic tube from the dash clip. 2. raise and support the vehicle. for additional information, refer to section 100-02. 3. unlock and remove the slave cylinder (7a564) from the transmission. compress and twist the slave cylinder to unlock it from the transmission. 4. disconnect the clutch hydraulic tube from the floor pan clip. position the slave cylinder and hydraulic tube forward below the left engine bank. this will make it easier to unlock the clutch master cylinder from the clutch pedal and support bracket (7b633) by reducing tension on the hydraulic tube. 5. lower the vehicle. 6. warning: the clutch pedal is under spring tension. unlock the push rod bushing retaining clips and separate the clutch master cylinder push rod from the clutch …
